COMFREY – Kenneth Wayne Pietz, age 94, of Comfrey died on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
A private burial service with family and friends will take place at the Congregational Cemetery in Comfrey.

Kenneth Wayne Pietz was born on May 10, 1922 the son of Elmer and Myrtle (Rue) Pietz in Jackson County. He attended and graduated from Windom High School in 1940. Ken served in World War II as a U.S. Marine in the Pacific Rim. After returning home from the war, he farmed for many years. Ken enjoyed hunting, bowling and traveling to Texas during the winter months during his younger years and more recently listening to the news and having coffee with his friends.
Ken is survived by his brothers Kermit of Golden Valley and Jim (Alice) of Springfield, his sister Shirley McDaniel of Layton, Utah, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Donna and brothers Donald and Robert Pietz.
The family asks that memorials be given to the Albin Johnson American Legion Post #244 of Comfrey.
