Court Proceedings

Brown County

District Court

Chelsey M. Conn, 30, homeless, was charged Tuesday with felony fifth-degree drug possession-not small amount of marijuana-subsequent violation; and misdemeanor giving peace officer false name.

According to a Statement of Probable Cause, New Ulm Police learned that Hector Pedraza, who was wanted for an active arrest warrant, was staying at the Econolodge. Police knocked on his motel room door and identified Pedraza and a woman, Conn, who identified herself as Amanda M. Flores, 31, of Armstrong, Iowa. She admitted to recently smoking methamphetamine and was arrested. A purse on the motel room floor contained an identification card for Chelsey M. Conn, who had an outstanding warrant out of Martin County. The woman later confirmed her name was Chelsey Conn. Police scraped residue on a pipe found next to her. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

A record check showed she was convicted of third-degree controlled substance possession on Sept. 24, 2007 in Martin County.
