New Ulm Police
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries at 12:17 p.m. Monday at Highway 14 and Garden Street. A 2020 Honda Civic driven by Jasmine Angel Sparks, 26, Sleepy Eye, was westbound on Highway 14, slowed for a yellow light and noticed a vehicle approaching from behind, changed lanes to avoid being hit and sideswiped a 2025 Chevy van driven by Nicholas John Redmond, 45, Fridley. Damage was moderate, disabling to the Honda and moderate to the van. Both drivers wore seat belts.
• Responded to a disturbance report at a group home at 2:47 p.m. Wednesday. An 18-year-old New Ulm male client said he wanted to harm himself and was transported to New Ulm Medical Center for evaluation. A report was done for documentation.
• Responded for a welfare check at the Brown County Evaluation Center, detox unit at 10:25 pm. Wednesday. A 31-year-old St. Paul woman was said to be addicted to opioids. She was transported to New Ulm detox but did not check into the unit. She was not located but was reported to be wearing white pants, a black t-shirt and plaid and pink-fleeced jacket. A report was done for documentation.
