New Ulm Police

• Received a false unemployment claim report from a 38-year-old New Ulm woman at 3:40 pm. Jan. 24. No money was lost but identity theft is possible. A report was done for documentation.

• Arrested a 29-year-old New Ulm man on three Brown County warrants following a verbal domestic call involving a 26-year-old New Ulm woman at 11:57 a.m. Jan. 25 at 416 17th St. S. Nobody was hurt. A report was sent to Brown County Probation.

• Responded to a lift assist request at 1023 Spring St. N. at 1:08 p.m. Jan. 26. An 89-year-old New Ulm woman was not transported anywhere. No injuries were reported. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a one-vehicle crash without injuries at CR 13 and 115th St., Lake Hanska Township at 9:07 p.m. Jan. 25, 2022. Nicholas Herrera, 36, St. James, was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion that entered a ditch and hit a Brown County REA pole. The Brown County REA and NUVERA were advised. Herrera was arrested for DWI and 5th-degree controlled substance possession. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

Comfrey Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with possible minor injuries at Gray St. and Prairie St. N., an uncontrolled intersection at 9:31 a.m. Jan. 25. A 79-year-old Comfrey woman drove a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse that collided with a 17-year-old Comfrey male driving a Chevy Silverado. Damage was minor to both vehicles.
