Brown County Sheriff’s Office
•Received a theft report from Ampride, 21 Broadway, Hanska at 9:34 a.m. Jan. 22. A green passenger car reportedly drove off without paying for a $45 gasoline purchase. A report was done for documentation.
New Ulm Police
•Received a one-vehicle crashreport at 6:05 p.m. Jan. 21 at South Bridge St. and Tower Road. Juanluis Herrera, 19, St. James, was driving a 2009 Chrysler Sebring northbound on Bridge St. South when he left the road and hit a light pole, left the scene, then returned to pick up vehicle parts. Police stopped the vehicle that returned and identified the driver as Herrera who had a suspended driver’s license. Damage was moderate to the light pole and moderate to the passenger side of the car.
•Responded to a lift assist on the1700 block Franklin St. S. at 9:01 p.m. Jan. 22. A 65-year-old New Ulm woman had fallen and was transported to New Ulm Medical Center for a wellness check. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.
•Arrested a 27-year-old New Ulmman at 1:10 a.m. Jan. 23 at 2201 N. Broadway on Nicollet and Blue Earth County warrants and violating probation by drinking. He was transported to the Brown County Evaluation Center Detox.
•Received a call at 10:27 a.m. Jan.23 on the 800 block Minnesota St. S. A 27-year-old New Ulm man was transported to the New Ulm Medical Center due to cuts on his hands. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.
•Arrested a 36-year-old New Ulmman on a probation apprehension and detain order at 2:56 p.m. Jan. 21 at 613 6th St. N. A report was sent to Brown County Probation.
•Received a scam/fraud report at3:31 p.m. Jan. 21 from a 45-year-old New Ulm man who said a false unemployment claim was filed in his name. The man contacted his employer, financial institutions and filed an online report with the Federal Trade Commission.
•Responded to a domestic call at1110 Center St. at 9:39 p.m. Jan. 21. A New Ulm woman and Moorhead man were separated for the night. Both claimed minor injuries. Police did not find evidence of injuries.
•Responded to a bar fight atMowan’s Bar, 22 Minnesota St. N. at 11:25 p.m. Jan. 21. A 48-year-old New Ulm man was arrested on a arrest and detain order and probation violation. Reports were sent to Brown County Probation and the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for review.
Minnesota State Patrol
•Responded to a one-vehicle crashreport with non-life threatening injuries at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 22 on TH 60, Fieldon Township, Watonwan County. Lisa M. Taylor, 43, St. James, was driving a Chevy Silverado westbound on Highway 60, lost control, entered a ditch and rolled. She was transported to Madelia Hospital. She wore a seat belt. Alcohol was not involved. Madelia Ambulance and Police and the Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
