New Ulm Police

• Stopped a vehicle at Garden St. s. and 2nd St. S. at 3:36 p.m. June 15. A 24-year-old New Ulm man had no proof of insurance. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for charges.

• Stopped a vehicle at Garden St. N. and 1st St. N. at 5:53 p.m. June 15. A 27-year-old New Ulm woman had no proof of insurance. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

Brown County Sheriff

• Took a report from a Searles caller at 7:08 p.m. June 15 of harassing phone calls between a 19-year-old Comfrey girl and a 22-year-old New Ulm man. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a report of a vehicle in the ditch on CR 8 and 360th Street at 7:09 p.m. June 15. A 17-year-old Morgan boy tried to avoid a deer. Front end damage was minor. No injuries were reported. A report was done for documentation.

• Found an a vehicle at CR 18/CR 9, Mulligan Township with lights and engine off at 3:18 a.m. June 16. A 36-year-old Butterfield man was determined to have mental health issues and was released to his parents who drove the vehicle home.

• Received a domestic assault call involving a 43-year-old New Ulm man and woman at 12:59 p.m. June 16 regarding a Skyview residence, Cottonwood Township. The woman allegedly called a friend during a domestic assault who called 911. Deputies saw marks on the neck of the woman and arrested the man for alleged fifth-degree assault. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

State Patrol

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with non-life threatening injuries on TH 4, Hector, Renville County at 4:32 p.m. June 15. A 2012 Kenworth semi truck driven by Nurdin A. Mohamed, 45, Minneapolis and a 2003 Harley Davidson FXDL driven by Tammy J. Kielty, 59, Hector, were northbound on TH when Kielty tried to pass on the left and the vehicles collided. Kielty wore a helmet but was transported to Hutchinson Hospital. Mohamed and a passenger, Sudais A. Mohamed, 7, Minneapolis, were not injured. Alcohol was not involved. Hector Ambulance and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with non-life threatening injuries on TH 7 and 23, Clara City, Chippewa County, at 6:20 a.m. June 15. A 2015 Hyundai Sonata driven by Silvio Y. Ramirez, 18, Minneapolis was eastbound on TH 7 when he collided with a 2009 Mack semi truck/trailer driven by Travis J. Kuemper, 37, Redwood Falls, who was southbound on TH 23. Ramirez was transported to St. Cloud Hospital. A Hyundai passenger, Alvaro G. Lucas, 32, Minneapolis, was transported to Montevideo Hospital. Kuemper was not injured. Clara City Police, Fire, EMS, Life Link and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted.
