St. James Police

• Danny R. Smith, 74, St. James, was injured in an car-bicycle crash reported on the 400 block of 1st Ave. S., St. James, at 9:02 p.m. March 17. Daniel R. Marquez, 25, St. James, was westbound in a 1999 Olds Delta 88 when he said he was blinded by oncoming headlights and collided with Smith who was riding in the westbound parking lane. Smith was transported to Mayo St. James, and later airlifted to Rochester, where he is listed in stable condition.

The crash is under investigation and will be forwarded to a prosecuting attorney for review of possible charges.

Brown County Sheriff

• Stopped a vehicle near the County Road 25/County Road 13 intersection, Sigel Township, at 9:43 a.m. March 17. A 31-year-old Hanska man was cited for driving after license revocation. The vehicle remained at the scene until a licensed driver could drive it away.

New Ulm Police

• Three flags were reported stolen from Schonlau Park near the Glockenspiel on Thursday. The theft occurred sometime in the last two weeks, but the exact day they were taken is unknown. The three flags taken were a German flag, an Ulm flag and Neu Ulm flag. The ropes holding the flags in place were cut to remove the flags. The cost of replacing the flags is estimated at $800.
