Minnesota State Patrol

• Responded to a one-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 212, Stewart, McLeod County at 11:10 p.m. Saturday, March 6. A 2014 Dodge Ram driven by Grant D. Youngkrantz, 21, Hector, was westbound on Highway 212, went off the road and rolled. He was transported to an Olivia hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger was not injured. Alcohol was involved. Stewart Fire, Buffalo Lake Ambulance assisted.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Received a theft report of a silver 2002 Chevy Trailblazer owned by Phillip Raymond, Cobden, at 140 2nd St., Cobden at 3 a.m. March 7. A report was done for documentation.

• Received a vehicle-deer crash report at CR 29 and Saddle Hills Dr., Milford Township at 8:30 p.m. March 5 involving a 2016 Kia Soul driven by Dennis Cummins, 63, Nicollet. Damage and injury reports were not available.

• Arrested a 26-year-old Hanska man for assault at 200 3rd St. E. at 5:03 p.m. March 4. The victim, a 25-year-old Hanska woman, was not seriously hurt and was arrested for an outstanding Blue Earth County DWI warrant and a Nicollet County theft warrant. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• A Hanska resident at 205 Summit Ave. reported the theft of a paint sprayer, phone and tablet, all valued at more than $4,000 at 2:01 p.m. March 5. The resident said the theft happened sometime after Dec. 17, 2020. A report was made for documentation.

New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 15th South and Minnesota St. at 9:21 a.m. March 5. A 2017 GMC driven by Christine Suess, 60, New Ulm, attempted to turn left onto 15th South and hit the rear of a 2013 Ram driven by Steen Fennern, 70, New Ulm. Damage was light to Ram and light to moderate to the GMC. Both drivers wore seat belts.

• Received a criminal damage to property report at the Brown County Human Services Center, 1117 Center St. at 12:50 p.m. March 4. The caller said several windows were broken last evening. A report for documentation was done.

• Received a theft report at 10:04 a.m. March 7 from Dittrich Specialties, 2110 N. Broadway. A 2016 black Carrie Kraft Trailduster steel trailer with wood flatbed and white painted wheels was stolen sometime between Feb. 28 and March 6. The trailer value was estimated at $1,000.

• Received bad checks reported passed at Cashwise Foods, 1220 Westridge Rd. at 10:09 a.m. March 7. Bad checks were written for $99.48, $126, and $186.76. In addition, bad check fees brought the total charges to $502.24. The suspect is a 38-year-old St. James man. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Through the overnight hours and into the morning of 3/5-3/6, over 60 vehicles in the New Ulm area were egged. Through a homeowners outdoor video surveillance system, officers were able to get a vehicle description

Screen shots of the vehicle were posted on social media and officers were able to receive information on the location of the vehicle. With assistance from Wal-Mart surveillance where the eggs purchased, officers conducted interviews of four juvenile males, ages 14, 15, 16, and 17, who all reside in New Ulm. A report was sent to the County Attorney’s Office for the charges of vandalism and criminal damage to property.
