State Patrol

•Responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 4 and CR 11, Brookfield Township, Renville County at 6:06 p.m. Dec. 9. A 2005 GMC pickup driven by Cole M. Sander, 21, Bird Island, was southbound on Highway 4 when it collided with a 2010 Chevy pickup driven by Brice R. Barrick, 41, Dassel, who was eastbound on CR 11.Barrick was transportedto Hutchinson Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers wore seat belts. Alcohol was involved. Hector Police and Ambulance and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

New Ulm Police

•Received a call from aMenard’s employee at 7:32 p.m. Dec. 8 regarding suspicious activity in the parking lot. The employee said they were given a suspicious note about a vehicle description from a 51-year-old New Ulm woman. Police arrived and said the woman appeared to be having mental health issues. Nobody was hurt and no damage was reported. She was allowed to return to her residence. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.
