Minnesota State Patrol
• Responded to a one-vehicle crash on snow and ice on U.S. Highway 212 and Major Avenue, Sumter Township, McLeod County at 7:42 a.m. Dec. 7. A 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Laura A. Schmalz, 37, Buffalo Lake, was eastbound on Highway 212, near Major Avenue, left the road, entered a ditch and rolled. She was transported to Hutchinson Health Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Her passengers, aged 2 and 4, were not hurt. The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, Glencoe Fire Department and Allina Ambulance assisted.
Brown County Sheriff’s Office
• Received a report of mail found scattered in a ditch near County Road (CR) 29 and 225th Avenue, Home Township at 12:53 p.m. Monday.
• A criminal damage to property report was received from a resident on CR 29, Milford Township at 10:58 p.m. A 30-year-old New Ulm man reportedly destroyed a mailbox while driving. Damage was moderate to the vehicle.
• Delivered a harassment restraining order (HRO) to a 26-year-old Sleepy Eye man requested by a 28-year-old Sleepy Eye woman.
Sleepy Eye Police
• Received a domestic physical assault report at 12:55 p.m. Sunday from a Sleepy Eye woman regarding her 16-year-old daughter. She did not seek medical treatment. The girl was transported to Prairie Lakes Regional Treatment Center. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.
• Received an animal complaint at 2 p.m. Monday from a resident on Elm St. N.E. A 30-year-old Sleepy Eye man had a cut on his hand from a pit bull dog bite. He sought medical treatment at Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Police are attempting to contact the dog owner.
