New Ulm Police

• Responded to parked vehicle crash without reported injuries at 2nd Street S. and Front Street sometime between 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday. A legally parked 2018 SUV owned by Shawn Jakes, New Ulm, was facing west on 2nd South St., just west of Front Street. A large amount of plastic debris was found on the ground by the vehicle, some of which was the rear driver’s side taillight. There was also clear, plastic debris, possibly from another vehicle’s headlight. There was also rear driver’s side bumper corner damage to the SUV.

• Stopped a vehicle at Center and Minnesota St. at 10:28 p.m. Wednesday and arrested a 26-year-old New Ulm woman for DWI.

• Received a scam/fraud report at Hy-Vee Food Store, 2015 S. Broadway at 1:42 p.m. A Sibley County resident reported buying two $500 gift cards in Winthrop and was going to buy more gift cards at Hy-Vee but did not do so. The person had received a request to buy the cards in an apparent scam. The report was forwarded to the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office.

Minnesota State Patrol

• Received a two-vehicle crash report on State Highway 22, just west of Stewart at 9:08 p.m. Thursday. A 2007 Toyota Camry driven by Diane B. Porter, 70, Webster, S.D. was westbound on U.S. Highway 212 when it collided with a Case 9240 combine driven by Kenneth G. Kuttner, 68, Stewart. Portner wore a seat belt and was transported to a Glencoe hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Kuttner was not injured. Brownton Police, Stewart Fire, Buffalo Lake Ambulance, and the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
