New Ulm Police

• A school resource officer issued a citation for tobacco possession on school grounds involving a Lafayette 12-year-old male at New Ulm Middle School Sept. 23.

• Performed a welfare check at 506 1/2 Center St. at 3:48 p.m. Monday. A landlord said they heard a baby crying, knocked on the door but nobody came to the door. Police arrived and were told by the mother and father that they fell asleep and did not hear the baby. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• An arrest warrant for a probation violation was served on an 38-year-old New Ulm woman at 1 State St. S. at 10:46 a.m. Tuesday. The woman was transported to the Brown County Jail.

McLeod County Sheriff’s Office

• Observed a vehicle in the median near U.S. Highway 212 and Dairy Avenue east of Glencoe at 12:43 a.m. Sept. 28. Madison Read, 25, Glencoe, was arrested for probable cause DUI and transported to the McLeod County Jail in Glencoe. The vehicle was towed.

Sibley County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a multi-vehicle crash on State Highway 15, just north of State Highway 19 at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29. A 2013 Mazda CX-5 driven by Carli Vargason, 17, Dassel, was in the ditch with moderate damage. The Mazda was southbound on Highway 15 when it tried passing another vehicle and hit a northbound semi tractor and trailer. Vargason was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The semi driver was not injured, and the semi was not damaged. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Winthrop Ambulance, Fire/Rescue and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted.

Redwood County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a one-vehicle crash at State Highway 19 and State Highway 6 at 7:59 p.m. Monday. A 2012 Chevy Traverse driven by Vijayasankar Ramadoss, 51, Lincolnshire, Illinois, traveled through a T-intersection and came to a rest in a field south of State Highway 19. The vehicle had moderate, disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The driver was not injured.
