Redwood County Sheriff

A 2015 Ford Escape driven by Verlin Breon, 80, of Iowa, and a 2005 KW semi tractor truck, driven by Scott Schultz, 60, of Springfield, collided at the intersection of U.S. Highways 71 and 14, Sanborn, at 8:52 a.m. Thursday, which resulted in damage to both vehicles.

The semi was heading east on Highway 14 after coming to a stop at the intersection. The Ford had stopped at the the intersection, then proceeded south on Highway 71, striking the semi in the rear driver’s side tire.

No injuries were reported.

The Ford sustained moderate damage, and the semi, minor damage.

The incident is under investigation.

Brown County Sheriff

* Received a report at 8:07 a.m. Thursday of a three-day-old, black and white calf stolen from 17029 CR 8, Leavenworth Township. The calf was valued at $300.

New Ulm Police

* Received a call about a three-year-old wandering around alone on the first block of State Street North at 6:53 p.m. Wednesday. The girl was found unharmed. A report was sent to Brown County Family Services.

* Received a call at 7:49 p.m. Wednesday about a domestic issue involving a 37-year-old New Ulm man on probation at 915 Jefferson St. N. A report was sent to the man’s Brown County Probation agent.

Sleepy Eye Police

* Received an online scam/fraud report at 8:35 a.m. Thursday at 200 Main St. E. A resident reported an online attempt at selling dogs.
