• Received a call of a three-vehicle crash without injuries about two miles east of Gaylord on State Highway 5 at 4:46 a.m. March 11. A 2014 BMW driven by Eddie Smith, 49, Arlington, was being pulled from the ditch by a John Deere pay-loader when a 2001 Lexus SUV driven by Raymond Gritz, 62, Waverly, tried to pass on the right, lost control and hit the BMW on the driver’s side.
Damage was heavy to the driver’s side of the BMW and moderate to the front end of the Lexus. Poor road conditions and speed are believed to be crash factors. The Minnesota State Patrol and Gaylord Fire Department assisted.
