State Patrol

• A truck collided with a dump truck 6:21 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 15 in the Cottonwood Township. A 2008 Ford Edge driven by Nicole Amber Campo, 23, of Hanska, was traveling south on Highway 15. The road were covered in snow and ice, and the Ford lost control entering the northbound lane. It collided with a 2003 Freightliner dump truck driven by Shane Willis Reasor, 45, of Madelia.

Campo sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to New Ulm Hospital. Reasor was uninjuried.

Renville County

Sheriff

• On Thursday at approximately 9:07 a.m., the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle crash on County Road 11, near 520th Street. That location is north of Buffalo Lake in Boon Lake Township.

The preliminary crash investigation revealed that a 2015 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 23 year old Kaitlyn Wurzberger of Hector, was travelling east on County Road 11, when she lost control of the vehicle due to poor road conditions. The vehicle entered the ditch and struck a powerline pole. Two children aged 5 and 1 were passengers in the vehicle. None of the occupants were injured as a result of the crash. The vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.

• On Thursday at approximately 7:24 a.m., the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle crash on County Road 20, near 810th Avenue. That location is northeast of Buffalo Lake in Preston Lake Township.

The preliminary crash investigation revealed that a 2011 Dodge Avenger Express, driven by 20 year old Ashley Benson of Stewart, was travelling south on County Road 20, when she lost control of the vehicle due to poor road conditions.

The vehicle entered the ditch and struck a tree. Ashley was the sole occupant of the vehicle and did not sustain any injuries. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.

Assisting on scene was the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
