New Ulm Police

• Received a two-vehicle crash report without injuries at 12:06 p.m. Aug. 31 at Center and State Streets. A 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Laurie L. Vanwinkle, 46, Farmington, was westbound on Center when it collided with a 2018 Buick Encore driven by Margaret M. Steffl, 58, New Ulm, who was also westbound in the other lane, and tried to switch lanes. Damage was light to the left front quarter panel of the Hyundai and moderate to the right front quarter panel of the Buick.

• Assisted the New Ulm Fire Department with a small grass fire at 22nd St. North and Broadway at 11:31 a.m. Sept. 1. A 32-year-old New Ulm man was driving a moped that backfired and started on fire, causing a small grass fire nearby. The suspect, found to be an unlicensed driver, fled the scene and later returned. A report citing no driver’s license and fleeing the scene of a crash will be forwarded to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for charge consideration.

• Responded to a call at Traulich Estates, 2201 N. Broadway at 1:53 p.m. Sept. 1. Two white men were reported running out of an unsecured mobile home between 4 and 5 p.m. Friday. The suspects ran to the Palm Beach Marinecraft Inc. parking lot and fled in a green, 1990s model Chevrolet S10 pickup truck.

Springfield Police

• Received a theft report at 205 Washington Ave. N. at 10:10 a.m. Sept. 1. A resident reported several items and cash missing from their residence. The theft was believed to have taken place sometime over the past couple days.
