Minnesota State Patrol

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 14 and 1st Avenue N., Sleepy Eye at 7:06 p.m. Thursday. A 2019 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Paul W. Wojahn, 99, New Ulm, was westbound on Highway 14 when it collided with a 2019 Peterbilt dump truck driven by Brandon L. Stage, 31, Hanska. Both drivers wore seat belts. Wojahn was transported to Sleepy Eye Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Stage was not injured. Alcohol was not involved. Sleepy Eye Police and Ambulance and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries at 7th North St. and Broadway at 3:31 p.m. Thursday. A 2020 Nissan Rogue driven by Clinton G. Thiesse, 65, of Reno, NV was westbound on 7th North, making a left turn onto Broadway and failed to yield to a 2010 school bus driven by Joseph P. Rakowski, 30, Gibbon. Damage was minor to both vehicles. Both drivers wore seat belts.

• Performed a welfare check at 3:34 p.m. Wednesday on a 55-year-old New Ulm man with dementia. He was found in a very confused state at the Nicollet CR 37 boat landing near the Minnesota River. The man was transported to his residence where his wife was waiting. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• Received a scam/fraud report at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday. A resident said their debit card number was used for five improper transactions totaling around $340.

Redwood County Sheriff’s Office

• Received a theft report of a red Coleman 49cc dirt bike from a yard in Milroy at 3:12 p.m. Thursday. The theft happened sometime after Sept. 18. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 507-637-4036.
