New Ulm Perkins veterans recognized

Holmes and Fuhr

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Perkins Restaurant & Bakery celebrated its diamond anniversary, by franchises integral to its success.

The brand was born as a single Cincinnati pancake shop in 1958 in the time of Elvis tunes and hula hoops, and the concept has successfully spanned decades of continuous growth. Sixty years later, the family dining chain has expanded to include 390 restaurants and is still wowing its faithful guests with quality food, affordable prices, and a friendly atmosphere.

Integral to Perkins’ success are its franchisees, including Minnesota-based Pat Holmes Enterprises, Inc. Owner Pat Holmes became part of the Perkins’ story in 1976 when he started as a dishwasher at a local Perkins. After taking on additional responsibilities, becoming a general manager and operating various Perkins over the next 25 years, Holmes seized the opportunity to become a franchisee in 2004. He has owned and operated the Perkins Restaurant & Bakery located at 1727 S Broadway in New Ulm, Minnesota since, relying on the operating expertise offered by General Manager Bobbi Fuhr, a 22-year Perkins veteran herself.

At the company’s recent conference, President & CEO, Jeff Warne, recognized Pat Holmes Enterprises, Inc. and all of Perkins’ franchisees: “Our 60th Anniversary milestone is in large part testament to the hard work, dedication and contributions of our franchisees. They have helped shape our history, contributed to who we are today, and will continue to play a vital role in upholding the future of our brand.”
