German carols at the Cathedral on Christmas

NEW ULM — German Weihnachtslieder (Christmas car- ols) will be featured at New Ulm’s Cathedral of the Holy Trin- ity, 605 North State Street, on Christmas morning. Everyone is invited.

Carols will begin at 7:30 a.m. and lead into the 8 a.m. Mass under the direction of Cathedral Music Director Dr. Tom Andrews. The congregation is invited to sing along.

The event is sponsored by the New Ulm Deutscher SprachKlub (German speaking club), and includes Concord singers and others. For more information contact Dr. Andrews at (507) 354-4158.

Brown Co. Heartland Express holiday hour

Brown County Heartland Express will operate on Tuesday Dec. 24 with a limited schedule, and the office will be closing early. We will also be closed on Wednesday Dec. 25. To make a ride request for Thursday Dec. 26, please call and schedule with our office by noon on Tuesday December 24 at 507-359- 2717 or 800-707-2717.

Solstice Celebration on Saturday

NEW ULM — The 2nd Annual Solstice Celebration, “Pas- sage to the Light,” will be held at the Flandrau State Park Beach House from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21.

Sponsored by the Nora Unitarian Universalist Church, the event will feature poetry, reflection and song, with music by Dick Kimmel.

The event is free, but a state park sticker or day pass is re- quired to bring a vehicle into the park.

Better Breathers Club meets Thursday

NEW ULM — The Better Breathers Club is a free infor- mational group for anyone who has, or knows someone, with lung disease.

Meetings are held at the New Ulm Medical Center Hospi- tal in the 3rd floor auditorium.

There is limited parking off of North Fifth Street, or you can enter through the main hospital entrance, and use the el- evator to get to the 3rd floor auditorium. Volunteers are avail- able for wheelchair assistance.

The next meeting will be Thursday, Dec. 19th at 2 p.m. The topic will be Airway Clearance Techniques, presented by Cheryl Armstrong, RRT, AE-C, a Clinical Field Specialist RespirTech

The meeting after that will be Feb. 20, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Hospital Auditorium to learn more about Pulmonx Zephyr Endobronchial Valve.
