Oakwood Spaghetti Supper

NEW ULM — Oakwood United Methodist Church will be hosting a spaghetti supper from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, at 1630 Oakwood Ave. in New Ulm. The menue includes spaghetti with a choice of meat or meatless sauce, garlic bread, pickles, bars, coffee and water. The church will be collecting a freewill offering and the proceeds will support the local food shelf.

Bernadotte Pie & Ice Cream Social June 5

LAFAYETTE — The Bernadotte Lutheran’s Annual WELCA Pie and Ice Cream Social will be held Wednesday, June 5 from 5:30 p.m to 8 p.m. at the Bernadotte Lutheran Church.

The pie social menu includes BBQ sandwiches, hot turkey sandwiches, pie, cake and ice cream. Coffee lemonade and milk will aslo be available. Music will be provided by the Lafayette City Band and the Bernadotte Ladies will be holding a bake sale. Bernadotte Luteran Church park is located at 34122 515th Ave on County Rd 10. the event will be moved indoors in the case of bad weather.

Izaak Walton Spring Blast

NEW ULM — Izaak Walton League Range will be hosting its Spring Blast shooting match, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 18. Events will be held for men, women and youths and include bullseye, precision cd, timed event, pistol duel, modern sporting rifle, 100 to 270+ yard rifle, vaporizing varmint and more. There will be $5 entry fee per event with 50-50 split cash prises.

Crisis Nursery Garage Sale

NEW ULM — The Southern Minnesota Crisis Nursery will hold its 4th Annual Garage and Bake Sale Fundraiser on Friday and Saturday at 1027 North Broadway. Sale hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

Items for sale include Kitchen table and chairs, books, puzzles, games, clothing, toys, housewares, furniture, baby items, homemade baked goods. Free Will Offering. All Proceeds Benefit SMNCN.

MLC Advanced Piano Recital

NEW ULM — Martin Luther College students with advanced piano skills will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9 in the Music Center Choir Room (rm 217) at the college. They will perform works by Mozart, Debussy, Ravel, Granados and Ginastera. This event is free and open to the public.

Brown County DFL Meeting

SPRINGFIELD — The Brown County DFL will have its monthly meeting at Tommy’s Steakhouse in Springfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14 (5:30 P.M. if you wish to come early to eat and socialize). All local DFLers are welcome to attend. The main order of business will be to discuss upcoming summer events and activities.
