Caregivers Workshop to be
offered at NUMC
NEW ULM — Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota will be offering a Powerful Tool for Caregivers Workshop series beginning Sept. 10 at New Ulm Medical Center. It will run for six consecutive Mondays through Oct. 15.
Powerful Tools For Caregivers is a free six-week program for anyone that provides care for a loved one. This is a group workshop designed to help caregivers develop self-care tools to better manage the unique challenges facing them.
During the six-week session, participants receive support from trained leaders and other workshop participants. They will learn practical skills proven to reduce stress, communicate more effectively, improve self-care, make effective decisions and access community resources for caregivers.
Participants also benefit from meeting other people with similar challenges and learning how they cope.
The workshop begins Sept. 10 for 6 consecutive Mondays , from 1:30- 3:30 p.m. It will be held at the New Ulm Medical Center/Allina Hospital located in New Ulm.
Space is limited so please be registered by Aug. 31 to hold your place.

St. John’s Church Fall Festival
SEARLES — St. John’s Parish Fall Festical will be held Sunday, Aug. 26, Rain or Shine. Everyone is welcome

Gemütlichkeit in Goosetown
NEW ULM — Gemütlichkeit in Goosetown, celebrating one of New Ulm ‘s most unique neighborhoods, will be held Sunday, Sept. 9, from 12 to 4 p.m. at Riverside Park.
Events inlcude “Music For Memories” by Michigan performer and former Goosetowner, Richard Schwartz, tours of Riverside Nature Learning Center, canoeing on the river, food by Joni’s Catering, local live animal visits, National Guard Ball Toss games (baseball, football, basketball) and much more Family Fun.
Minnesota State Fair Trip with Community Education
NEW ULM — District 88 Communitiy Eduation is organizing a Minnesota State Fair trip on Thursday Aug. 30.
The Bus will leave at 6:30 a.m. from the Middle School Parking Lot on South Garden Street and leave the fair at 4 p.m.
Charter Bus Fee: $25 payable at New Ulm Community Education
Pre-admission tickets will be available at the Chamber of Commerce Office or admission fees will be collected on the bus.
