Balge to present concert Sunday
MANKATO — Pianist Bethel Balge presents a free concert with violinist Peter McGuire, cellist Sharon Mautner-Rodgers, and soprano Jennifer Haugen on Sunday, June 3 at 7 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran College’s Trinity Chapel.
This concert is Balge’s final project for having received the Professional Mid-Career Artist Grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council. The concert will include a variety of romantic and impressionistic pieces. Balge will perform solo piano pieces by Brahms and Debussy. She will collaborate with McGuire on Suite Popular Espanola by Manuel De Falla, a duet for violin and piano. Balge and McGuire will accompany Haugen on a song by Rachmanninoff and will perform with Mautner-Rodgers in the Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor by Mendelssohn.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
