Kimmel to play Noon Tunes at library

NEW ULM — Dick Kimmel and Stacey Watje will be the featured musicians at Noon Tunes on Tuesday, November 28, at 12 p.m. at New Ulm Public Library. Watje is a singer and Kimmel plays bluegrass music on guitar, mandolin, and banjo. Noon Tunes is sponsored by Friends of the New Ulm Public Library. Call 507-359-8334 for more information.

Library to host writing group for

National Novel Writing Month

NEW ULM — Adults and young adults interested in writing are invited to meet and share their writing at the library on Tuesday, November 28, at 6:30 p.m. as part of the library’s celebration of National Novel Writing Month. Each attendee should bring some of his/her writing to share and be prepared to share comments on the writing of other attendees. The group will be led by writer, storyteller, and Youth Services Librarian Jan Keaveny. This program is free and open to the public. Call 507-359-8334 for more information.

Library to offer holiday candy-making

NEW ULM — On Wednesday, November 29, at 6:30 p.m., New Ulm Public Library will offer a holiday candy-making demonstration by Sharon Schaller of Sharon’s Craft-N-Floral Center in Mankato. NEW ULM — On Tuesday, December 5, at 6:30 p.m., New Ulm Public Library will offer a holiday ornament-making class led by Sharon Schaller of Sharon’s Craft-N-Floral Center in Mankato. St John’s Searles to host

28th Annual Cookie Bake

SEARLES — Order forms are available for the 28th Annual St. John’s Cookie Bake. There are 19 varieties to choose from, including traditional and family favorites. Gift packs of assorted cookies are also available. All varieties are $4.25 per dozen. Gift Paks are $12.00 each.

Order forms can be obtained by contacting Carol @ 359-4339, Sherry @ 354-8029, by e-mail: llb@newulmtel.net or by visiting: www.holycrossafc.org. Go to the “Parishes” tab and select St. John’s, then Cookie Bake. Orders will be accepted until November 26th. Orders will be ready for pick up on Saturday, December 2nd, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Sunday morning, December 3rd, from 8 to 12 noon at St. John’s Church basement. This is a Catholic United Financial Matching Grant fundraiser.
