Advent and Christmas Organ Music Concert at MLC
NEW ULM — On Saturday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m., selected Martin Luther College organ students of Craig Hirschmann and Wayne Wagner will present a recital of Advent and Christmas music in the MLC Auditorium.
This concert, based on familiar hymn and carol melodies, is a raare opportunity to hear the 42-rank Backer Memorial Organ (Casavant, 1971) in concert. The recital is free and open to the public.
Author Allen Eskens to speak at Library
NEW ULM — Minnesota author Allen Eskens will speak at New Ulm Public Library on Thursday, NOV. 16 at 6 p.m.
Eskens will discuss novel writing and working with an established publisher as part of the library’s celebration of National Novel Writing Month. Eskens is the bestselling author of “The Life We Bury,” which has been published in 20 languages and is being developed for a feature film.
His latest novel, “The Deep Dark Descending,” centers on a homicide detective who must come to terms with his wife’s murder while pursuing her killers.
The program, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by Friends of the New Ulm Public Library.
