Sleepy Eye City Council considers 2023 budget adoption
Set for 3.96% increase
SLEEPY EYE — The Sleepy Eye City Council will consider approving its 2023 budget Tuesday, Dec. 13 in the city council chambers.
The proposed $1,643,010 levy is a 3.96% ($62,515) increase from 2022. The proposed budget includes a $123,055 recreation and parks increase to $624,350.
Other agenda items include a Truth in Taxation hearing, consideration of an ambulance rate increase, finance committee employee wage recommendations, city engineer and city attorney reports and considering January fireworks pre-payment to receive a 12.5% discount.
The meeting that is open to the public and broadcast on the local cable access channel, begins at 7 p.m. in the council chambers.
