NEW ULM — New Ulm Area Foundation, Inc. has been selected as a beneficiary for the month of January in the Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program that supports local non-profits.

The Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program, which launched in October 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where customers live and work.

New Ulm Area Foundation was selected as the January beneficiary of the program by store leadership at the New Ulm Hy-Vee located on S. Broadway. The Foundation will receive a $1 donation every time a $2.50 red “My Heart” Reusable Bag is purchased at this location during January, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.

“We’re honored that the New Ulm Hy-Vee employees and management chose our Foundation for this program.” said John Illikman, Executive Director of New Ulm Area Foundation. “This will help us improve the local community in our four pillars of focus: the arts, education, economic development, and historic preservation.”

New Ulm Area Foundation is a non-profit based in here in New Ulm. Founded in 1987, NUAF has granted over $1 million to numerous organizations in our community.
