Trial dates set for former Winthrop man

Faces charge for threats of violence

NEW ULM — Jury trial dates were set for a 54-year-old former rural Winthrop man facing a felony threats of violence charge in Brown County District Court.

A three-day jury trial for Ronald H. Schoenhorn of Grand Rapids was set for June 29-30 and July 1 at a Tuesday pre-trial hearing. A misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge was dismissed April 23, 2021.

According to court documents, New Ulm Police were notified in April 2021 that a man identified as Schoenborn was in his vehicle on 5th North Street, near New Ulm Medical Center (NUMC), with signs concerning NUMC and a doctor employed there.

Of concern was a sign that read “$500 reward for Dr. Randeep Dahmi to be brought to me unharmed.”

Schoenborn was arrested and his vehicle was seized as evidence. Police found five $100 bills, the exact “reward” amount he offered for Dahmi. His bail without conditions was set at $100,000; $10,000 with conditions
