Drug raid results in NU man facing nine felony counts

NEW ULM — A 38-year-old New Ulm man faces nine felony charges after the Brown-Lincoln-Redwood-Renville (BLRR) Drug Task Force (DTF) executed a search warrant at at a residence inTraulich Estates Jan. 11.

Charges filed against Brandon L. White, 2201 N. Broadway, in Brown County District Court on Jan. 15 include 1st-degree drug sale 17 grams or more within 90 days; 2nd-degree drug sale-a narcotic other than heroin within 90 days; 2nd-degree drug sale narcotic in park zone; 2nd-degree meth sale in a park zone; 2nd-degree drug possession 25 grams or more cocaine or methamphetamine; 3rd-degree narcotic drug sale; 3rd-degree drug possession 10 grams or more of a narcotic other than heroin; 3rd-degree narcotic possession in a park zone and ammunition/any firearm possession-conviction or adjudicated delinquent for crime of violence.

White’s bail was set at $100,000 without conditions, $50,000 with conditions Friday. A court apperance was set for 8:30 a.m., Jan. 26.

According to court documents, three BLRR task force agents and five New Ulm Police officers executed a search warrant at 2201 N. Broadway at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 11.

A DTF agent detained and handcuffed White outside the trailer and found a small, red leather pouch in one of his front pants pockets.

Items found in the pouch included 6.5 grams of a white, powdery substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, 14.3 grams of a white, crystal substance that field tested positive for meth, .8 grams of a small, waxy substance and two cut straws commonly used with narcotics.

Items found in White’s bedroom included 10.55 grams of various baggies and containers, 31/35 grams of methamphetamine, 3.7 grams of cocaine, 9.9 grams of mushrooms, 14.9 grams of marijuana, 0.6 grams of acid (LSD), a 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun with fully-loaded, 16-round magazine clip, 122 rounds of 9mm handgun ammunition and a 20-round box of .223 ammunition. In addition, 20.8 grams of meth were found on White’s person.

A review of White’s record showed a felony 5th-degree controlled substance conviction on Dec. 17, 2012, and felon firearm possession.
