State reports 36 new COVID cases in Brown Co.

No new deaths reported

BROWN COUNTY — The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reported 36 new probable COVID-19 cases in Brown County on Dec. 18.

No new deaths were reported in Brown County Friday, leaving the total number of COVID-19 related deaths at 26. There have been 1,883 total cases in Brown County.

On Dec. 17, there were 19 new, laboratory-confirmed cases and two probable cases ranging in age from under the age of four to people in their 90s.

In an effort to provide more data, Brown County Public Health will post a weekly dashboard beginning Monday, Dec. 21. The dashboard will include more data and information regarding current COVID-19 numbers.

On Dec. 18, the MDH reported 21 probable cases and 22 total deaths in Blue Earth County, 18 probable cases, 30 deaths and 1,949 total cases in Nicollet County, 25 probable cases and 25 deaths and 1,246 total cases in Redwood County, 47 probable cases, 1,215 total cases and 35 total deaths in Renville County, 24 probable cases, 957 total cases and four total deaths in Sibley County, five probable cases, 1,009 total cases and five total deaths in Watonwan County.

According to the Renville County Public Health dashboard, there are 216 total cases in Olivia, 200 in Fairfax, 181 in Renville, 131 in Hector, 98 in Bird Island, 89 in Sacred Heart, 86 in Buffalo Lake, 77 in Franklin, 63 in Morton, 55 in Danube.

Active cases number 234 this week in Renville County, down from 378 active cases last week. The dashboard listed 37 cumulative deaths.
