SLEEPY EYE — Sandra Gonzalez received 138 write-in votes Nov. 3 to win a seat on the District 84 Board of Education.

Ashley Braulick received 103 write-in votes. Fifty-five others got 69 write-in votes and 12 ballots were blank. There were 322 write-ins.

The school board canvassed election results Thursday, on a motion by board member Sheila Wurtzberger, seconded by Casey Coulson.

Incumbent board members Darla Remus and Joleen Dittbenner were re-elected Nov. 3. Remus got 2,147 votes, Dittbenner 1,789 votes.
