NEW ULM — Cinema is returning to New Ulm. On Friday, July 17, The Lyric 3 will re-open to the public and feature classic film titles along with some recent Hollywood hits.

The theatre started selling tickets online on Wednesday, July 15. Having been closed due to the pandemic since mid-March, The Lyric will have limited hours and seating capacity but will be open seven days a week featuring family classics and some evening adult titles.

Phil Zacheretti, President & CEO of Phoenix Theatres Entertainment said, “The owners wanted to reopen The Lyric 3 as soon as it was safe to do so. Following all CDC and state safety guidelines, we feel that time is now. We hope the public enjoys the classic films and the $5 pricing until new movies are released from the Hollywood studios.”

During this reopening and for a limited time, all seats for all shows, every day will be $5. Once the Hollywood studios start to release new titles, tickets will return to the regular prices. Some studios are planning on new releases to start in August.

The Lyric 3 has implemented new safety protocols related to the coronavirus. These include all staff wearing masks and gloves when working, staff temperatures are taken before every shift, plexiglass between customers and staff at the concession stand and box office, hand sanitizing stations throughout the theatre, social distancing suggested where possible, regular cleaning of seats and touchpoints throughout the theatre, spacing and limited seating to comply with the state limit of 25% capacity and touchless refills for the annual popcorn buckets and large drinks. All customers are required to wear masks in public spaces.

All concession offerings will be available and include Orville Redenbacher popcorn, Coca-Cola products, Icee drinks, candy, hot dogs, pizzas, nachos and soft pretzels.

All seats are reserved and due to limited capacity, the theatre suggests people purchase tickets in advance of the showtime. Customers may order advance tickets at www.PhoenixTheatres.com.

The Lyric 3 offers a loyalty program to reward regular customers. Free memberships for the Motion Picture Points program will be available at the box office or online. The theatre is completely handicap accessible with special equipment to assist moviegoers who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind or with low vision. Gift cards are available and can be redeemed for tickets or food and beverages. They never expire and make great gifts for every occasion.

Private theatre rentals will be offered for any groups or families. Please contact the theatre manager at GMLyric@phoenixtheatres.com for details.
