NU schools to look at potential restart plan

NEW ULM — The District 88 School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Superintendent Jeff Bertrang will give an overview of the potential plan for restarting school in the fall. The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) has three plans to consider. MDE has stated they will make an official decision on which plan will be implemented by late July.

The board will also receive a report on summer programming and summer camps and clinics for sports.

The board will vote on the Brown County family facilitators’ contract. The contract is the same as in previous years. Fifty percent of the cost is picked up by the county and the remainder by the school district. Two full-time social workers are part of the contract. The total cost is $19,728.

The Literacy Program for Kindergarten through 3rd Grade will be reviewed for approval.

The 2020-2021 fee schedule will also be reviewed during the meeting.
