Grand Kabaret brings back live music

Staff photo by Clay Schuldt Jeremy Poland (right) and Lantz Dalz (left) are the first musical group to play The Grand Kabaret in New Ulm since the COVID-19 shutdown. The duo played for a full deck Friday night.

NEW ULM — The music returned to the Grand Center of Arts and Culture Friday night. Jeremy Polan and Lantz Dale played the Grand’s back patio with food and drink served by Lamplighter.

They were the first musical act to play at the Grand since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March.

The Grand Executive Director, Ann Makepeace said for the first night back seats were reserved quickly. Of the 45 seats available, 43 were reserved by showtime at 5 p.m.

Friday night’s event was a way of easing back into things at the Grand. Typically the kabaret would host music on Friday and Saturday, but The Grand is only hosting music one day of the weekend for now.

The Grand will host Andrea Lyn & Her Better Half next week, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 26 on the back patio. For reservations call 507-359-9222 to reserve.
