6th annual poker walk cancelled

NEW ULM — The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce, Ameriprise Financial and the Heart of New Ulm have announced that the 2020 Poker Walk scheduled for May has been cancelled in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The planning committee would like to thank all of the local businesses that had volunteered to participate as a stop on this year’s walking route. The committee plans to continue the event in 2021.

“Once our local businesses are able to fully open their doors again, we hope New Ulm residents will wholeheartedly patronize them and support them as they are able,” said Rachel Smith, a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial. “And since the Poker Walk is an activity designed to promote wellness in our community, we encourage people to still get outside for fresh air and sunshine, and a walk or a bicycle ride, while practicing safe social distancing.”
