NEW ULM — The New Ulm Medical Center Foundation and New Ulm Area Foundation were recent recipients of generous gifts given by Charlotte Anderson of New Ulm.

Anderson’s gift of $51,000 to New Ulm Medical Center Foundation (NUMCF) is a second gift to support her current scholarship fund — the Charlotte West Anderson Scholarship Fund. This fund was created in 2018 and the first recipient, Alexa Alfred, received this gift for the 2019-2020 academic school year. Alfred will continue to receive this gift each year during her education, providing an update of her status. A second recipient will be named once Alfred completes her education and so on from that point.

Anderson also made a gift of $51,000 to start a new scholarship with New Ulm Area Foundation (NUAF), the Charlotte Raymond Anderson Education Fund. This fund will support a recipient from the New Ulm area who is pursuing a career as a teacher/educator. The intent of this scholarship will look much like her medical career scholarship — following the student through their education until completion. The first scholarship will be available for the 2020-2021 academic school year.

More information about when these scholarships will available in 2020 can be found on each foundation’s website. If you are interested in learning more about how you make a planned gift now or in the future, please contact Missy at 507-217-5188 or John at 507-354-3337
