Sleepy Eye twins are ExCEL award recipients
SLEEPY EYE — A pair of Sleepy Eye twins are keeping the ExCEL Award in the family.
Sleepy Eye High School has named McKenna and Kadon Strong as the recipients of the ExCEL Award. ExCEL – Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership — is a recognition program designed exclusively for Minnesota high school juniors who are active in school activities, who show leadership qualities, and who work voluntarily in their community.
McKenna and Kadon are the twin children of Travis and Carmen Strong. McKenna is in cheerleading for football, in Volleyball, and participates in the 3-act plays, student council, band and hockey with New ulm and Sleepy Eye, and in the Spring she plays softball.
Kadon is involved in football, hockey, baseball, band and FFA. Both are in the National Honor Society. Both volunteer for Food for Kids, their church and also in the school with the elementary kids.
