New Ulm man charged in fatal Memorial Day crash

OLIVIA — A New Ulm man has been charged with causing a fatal traffic wreck during the Memorial Day weekend.

According to Radio Station KROC in Rochester, the Minnesota State Patrol has filed a citation charging 61-year-old Steven Grussendorf with careless driving and crossing the centerline.

The State Patrol says his pickup truck crossed the centerline of a road and collided head-on with another vehicle. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The other driver was killed. He was identified as 43-year-old David Koskela of Sacred Heart. His twin brother Duane was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The deadly wreck happened around 10:30 p.m. May 26 near the town of Hector.
