Peterson elected to state office

Brown County Director of Veterans Services Greg Peterson was elected President of the Minnesota Association of County Veterans Service Officers (MACVSO) on Sept. 11. He had been filling in as president since May when the previous president resigned. In this position Peterson will oversee the training and public relations for 145 service officers in 87 Minnesota Counties. He will also provide advice on Minnesota legislative affairs that concern veterans, their dependents and survivors. He will be featured each month on the Minnesota Military Radio Hour which airs on KNUJ Radio Sundays at 5:05 pm. Other service officers elected include: Vice President Martin Howes of Roseau County, Treasurer Lisa Klenk of Sibley County, Judge Advocate Josh Beninga of Lac qui Parle County, and Historian Heidi Fier of Lyon County. Peterson has been the Brown County veterans service officer since April 2004.
