Nicollet County board OKs contract

NICOLLET COUNTY — The Nicollet County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a professional services contract with Gale-Tech Engineering June 11.

A motion by Commissioner John Luepke, seconded by Commissioner Terry Morrow, authorized Nicollet County Public Works Director Seth Greenwood to work with Gale-Tech for geotechnical engineering assistance for County Road 14 disaster repairs following contract review by the county attorney.

Eighty percent of the cost to hire the firm would be paid by federal disaster funds. The remaining 20 percent would be paid with county state aid.

Nicollet County Commissioner Ryan Krosch told commissioners he met with a U.S. Census Bureau official to discuss creating a Complete Count Committee for the 2020 Census. The committee’s role is to help provide information to the public on the importance of completing the 2020 Census survey.
