Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute seeks applicants for two scholarships

MINNEAPOLIS — Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute is encouraging applications for two scholarships it administers for people hoping to pursue an education after high school.

The Scholarship for People with Disabilities provides financial assistance up to $1,000 for students with disabilities. Funds are made available through the private donation of Melvin and Sally Mooty. Scholarship monies are to be used to fund tuition, books and supplies.

Visit the webpage for more information, including eligibility criteria and where to send applications. The deadline for applications for the Scholarship for People with Disabilities is May 31 of every year.

The EMPOWER Scholarship encourages and supports ethnically diverse students who are pursuing a career in a medical or rehabilitation field. It is made possible by a generous gift from the David M. Hersey Endowment Fund of Courage Kenny Foundation.

Applicants must identify how they will use their education and training, and demonstrate their interest in rehabilitation. Selection is based on the applicant’s stated intentions, past achievements, need, and graduation ranking. An applicant need not have a disability.
