Comfrey School locks down for threat

COMFREY — Comfrey school officials locked the school down Friday morning after finding a note that contained a threat to the school.

Comfrey Police were called at about 10:40 a.m., and the department asked the Brown County Sheriff’s Office for assistance in investigating the threat. Personnel from the Sheriff’s Office, Springfield Police Department, Comfrey Fire and First Responders and Springfield Ambulance all responded to the school. The building was swept by Emergency Personnel and nothing suspicious was found. Classes resumed after the search was completed. Investigation into this incident is ongoing, according to a report from the Comfrey Police Department.
