NEW ULM — The St. Paul’s Lutheran School math team placed second at the Traverse de Sioux Chapter Math Counts meet in Mankato Feb. 1 and is going to state.

Individually, Spike finished third, the highest of the team, which would have qualified her individually for state.

The team from Dakota Meadows Middle School in Mankato placed first in the chapter meet.

The state meet is on March 8-9 at the Crown Plaza in Plymouth.

Other students from St. Paul who participated in Math Counts are Eric Smith, Estrella Strackbein, Dora Grubbs, Meaghan Martin, Mercy Dobberpuhl and Zach Riederer.
