Workshop shares ideas for decorating for holidays
NEW ULM — With Thanksgiving less than a week away and the holiday season in full swing, Inspired held a series of decorating workshops this week.
In the Brown County Museum Annex, Inspired employees Sharon Hubly and Rita Schugel gave simple do it yourself instruction for decorating space for Christmas.
These workshops have proven popular. Over the last three days the annex has been filled with audience members looking for decorating tips. Some have even visited for the Twin Cities area to attend the workshops.
The workshop focused on dressing up wreaths, tabletop and different types of lighting displays.
“We’re trying to show people some easy things they can do to decorate their space,” Schugel said. Many of their demonstrations could be modified in order to fit a large home or even a small apartment.
The holiday decorating workshops were a traditions of Lambrecht’s and has been carried over by Inspired. In past years the workshop was held in the Market Platz mall, but was moved to the annex this year.
Inspired owner, Christina Schwab said this year she is seeing a lot of copper in holiday home decor.
Hubly said the icy winter look as well as the classic red and green color scheme is still popular.
