Sleepy Eye firefighters answer two calls
SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye Firefighters answered calls for a ditch fire a mile north of town Monday night and a false alarm at Sleepy Eye Public School Tuesday morning.
A passerby reported a small brush fire in a ditch near Windsor Road and 245th Street at 9:44 p.m. Firefighters spent about 15 minutes at the scene extinguishing the fire.
Firefighters were called to Sleepy Eye Public School at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. Sleepy Eye Fire Chief Ron Zinniel said dust got into a smoke alarm at the wood shop, causing a false alarm.
