NEW ULM — A ground breaking ceremony was held Monday at 24 Somsen St. for the new DLC Manufacturing and Fabrication building.

DLC President Brent Donner and CEO David Dewald along with employees, members of Citizen’s Bank, Apx Construction and city administrative staff, gathered for the ceremony, complete with golden shovels.

In July, the city of New Ulm executed an agreement with New Ulm Economic Development Corporation (NUEDC) for a lot purchase in the Airport Industrial Park, to sell it to DLC. DLC has outgrown its facility at 1510 S. Minnesota St. and is relocating and constructing a new 36,000-square-foot building in the industrial park. The project will allow DLC to grow their business in New Ulm and hire additional employees.

Dewald estimated the new building will be completed in early May.
