Stewart man dies in traffic crash

STEWART — A 50-year-old Stewart man died ast the result of an automobile accident on Friday monring.

The McLeod County Sheriff’s office was called Friday, around 7:08 a.m. to a two vehicle accident near the intersection of CR 7 and Yacht Ave just north of Stewart.

A 2001 silver Pontiac sedan, driven and owned by David Paul Pfeiler, age 50, from Stewart, was traveling southbound on CR 7 when it traveled into the northbound lane and collide with a 2001 Mazda Protégé sedan, owned and driven by Jeremey Myrick, age 38, from Stewart.

Pfeiler was flown to Hennepin County Medical Center where he later died of his injuries. An 11-year-old juvenile was transported to Hutchinson Hospital prior to being flown to HCMC.

Myrick was taken to the Hutchinson Hospital.

Also responding to the scene were the Stewart Fire, Buffalo Lake Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol, Brownton Fire, Hutchinson Fire and the Allina Ambulance.

This case is still under investigation
