NEW ULM — The New Ulm Police Department on Thursday released the name of the pedestrian who died in a crash with a vehicle at 12th South Street and Broadway at 6:37 a.m. Wednesday.

Roger Saxton, 70, of New Ulm suffered fatal injuries in the crash, according to a police news release. Police and Allina Ambulance found him lying on the sidewalk at the scene. Life-saving measures were taken.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was identified as Blake Jarve, 20, of New Ulm.

The Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) is investigating the crash. Upon completion of the crash investigation, the MSP report will be reviewed by the Brown County Attorney’s Office, which is standard procedure, according to police.
