NUPD arrests, releases one suspect in Cathedral burglary
NEW ULM — After arresting and releasing a female suspect in the burglary of Holy Trinity Cathedral, New Ulm Police increased the reward from $500 to $600 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of suspects in a recent 3rd-degree burglary case at Holy Trinity Church.
An 18-year-old female was arrested for probable cause on a 36 hour hold on Thursday, Sept. 20 in the case. She was later released without being charged and investigators are continuing to process evidence in the investigation.
Law enforcement are sending physical, digital and video evidence to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) for enhancement and comparisons, according to a New Ulm Police news release.
“We are making real progress on the case, yet we still need help from the public,” said New Ulm Police Department (NUPD) Senior Investigator Jeff Hohensee. “Please view footage of the burglary as it occurred on the NUPD Facebook page.”
