Working on the railroad

Staff photo by Fritz Busch

A Swingmaster swing loader removes 85-pound rail, sets it on the ground and installs new 115-pound rail on the Minnesota Prairie Line between Winthrop and Gibbon Aug. 23. The project began this summer and is scheduled to be complete by Oct. 15. The new, continuous weld rail will allow trains to travel at 25 mph.
