Days of Play event draws families

Park and Recreation hosted the Summer Days of Play at the Vogel Field House.

The free event was open to the public and was attended by a few hundred children. The event was originally going to take place in German Park but a noon rain shower forced organizers to move the inflatable plays sets indoors at the Rec Center.

The evening concluded with a free screening of the film “Coco” on an inflatable screen.

Recreation Program Supervisor Joey Schugell said the Days of Play were made possible through the contributions of 38 local businesses. The Days of Play events have been part of New Ulm’s Park and Rec for several years, but it was only in the last three years the events were free to the public.
